European Stock Futures Little Changed Before Fed Announcement

Bloomberg, (19/6) -- European stock-index futures were little changed as investors awaited the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting. U.S. futures were also little changed, while Asian shares rose.

Futures on the Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for the euro area, rose 0.2 percent to 2,706 at 7:12 a.m. in London. Contracts on the U.K.’s FTSE 100 Index advanced 0.3 percent. Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures added 0.1 percent after the U.S. gauge climbed 1.5 percent over the past two days. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index gained 0.9 percent.

“As the long awaited FOMC decision is finally announced this evening, we have seen a much more relaxed view taking shape,” said Nick Xanders, an equity strategist at BTIG Ltd. in London. “With the rally over the past two days, it seems most expect him to continue to be accommodative, at least until the back half of the year.”
